CYF Offical Rules
Failure to follow official rules will be grounds for disqualification and/or membership dismissal.

All federal, state, and county game and safety laws must be observed at all times.

A valid state fishing license is required to fish all tournaments.

All contestants must wear life jackets at all times when the boat is on plane during tournament hours and the use of a kill switch is highly recommended.

Absolutely no alcoholic beverages will be allowed prior to or during a CYF tournament.

Anglers must fish from the boat. Any fishing while the angler is out of the boat is NOT permitted.

All boats are required to leave the designated launch site at the same time at the start of each day of fishing. No trailering allowed, all anglers must fish the same body of water.

All livewells must be checked before blast-off.

Artificial lures only, no live bait allowed, no trolling allowed, only one rod may be used at a time.

Only Largemouth, Smallmouth and Spotted Bass will be weighed.

The limit will be 5 bass per angler and culling must be done before trailering the boat for weigh-in and all bass must be 12" minimum measured on the Golden Rule.

No fish will be officially weighted-in prior to the designated weigh-in time.

There is no dead fish penalty but every member should ensure the health of all bass caught.

All contestants who are late for tournament may still participate but must notify the club they are coming and find a member to pay and check livewells if they want in big fish or team contests.

A grace period will be allowed for contestants reporting late to the weigh-in line as follows:
Up to 5 minutes: 1 pound of the total weight (big bass will also be penalized 1 pound).
6-10 minutes: 2 pounds of the total weight (big bass will also be penalized 2 pounds).
11-15 minutes: 3 pounds of the total weight (big bass will also be penalized 3 pounds).
16 minutes and over: Total weight and big bass is disqualified for that day.

If for any reason, a member elects to leave a tournament early, he/she must notify another member, either verbally or in writing, that they are doing so. This will help insure no member is left stranded on the lake at the end of the day. In addition it is recommended that you leave a note on the club president's vehicle.

A bass club member may bring a guest to any tournament during the course of the year. The guest will be eligible for the big bass pot if he/she chooses. The guests weight will NOT count toward the total team weight.

The big bass pot will be $5.00 per tournament. Big bass will pay only 1 place unless we have 10 or more boats then it will pay two places with 60% for angler and 40% for co-angler. In all big bass ties the pot will be split. The Big Fish Pot will roll over until it is claimed by a bass that weighs over 4 pounds. In the event a visitor wins big bass they will only win the amount for that tournament.

In case of a tie on total weight both anglers will receive the points for that position. In case of a tie on big bass weight both anglers will receive the points for big bass. In case of a tie for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the payout positions for each individual tournament big fish will break the tie.
